Drought Index

Drought can be defined on the basis of the degree of dryness (in comparison to  “normal” or average amount) and the duration of the dry period. The drought's impact may include direct effects to the local economic, agricultural, and hydrological (rivers, reservoirs and water tables) resources or may be the cause for secondary effects such as wildfires.
