The Louisiana
Research, Training, & Equipment Initiative (RTEI) is a cooperative endeavor
between the
LSU National Center for Security
Research and Training, the
Louisiana Department of
Economic Development and the Louisiana Office of Homeland
Security and Emergency Preparedness. Its purpose is to seek out
opportunities in Louisiana to create economic development and make
Louisiana more competitive for federal Homeland Security projects
related to disaster preparedness, response and bioterrorism
research.
The goals of this
program are to seek out opportunities to create economic growth in
Louisiana based on Homeland Security in order to help drive the
state’s economy. The ultimate goal is to help “spin-off” new
companies and create new jobs for the citizens of Louisiana.
You can become
involved with the research, training, and equipment initiative by
having your business or training institution listed on the State’s
Homeland Security comprehensive inventory list. Grant money flows
into the state of Louisiana to be used for the purpose of preparing
for an emergency. Louisiana would like to keep this grant money
within the state. The inventory list will help local authorities
find Louisiana vendors that can provide the equipment and training
that is needed.
The Louisiana
Homeland Security Research, Training and Equipment Initiative
encourages grant-seekers to partner with Louisiana businesses that
provide the service they seek through grant funding. These networks
provide grant-seekers with technical assistance and state-of-the
market knowledge to facilitate more competitive federal grant
applications. For more information about the Louisiana Grants
Assistance program
